Ciara Boniface is a director, editor, and writer from New Orleans, Louisiana and is based in Los Angeles. In her narrative work, Ciara has a passion for writing in the world of horror, drama, and magical realism with a focus on family, grief, and identity at the heart of the story. In February 2018, Ciara won a nationwide search for the ‘Next Visionary Filmmaker’ -- an award presented by Walt Disney Studios, Nissan, and Wrinkle in Time director, Ava DuVernay.
As an editor, Ciara has worked with clients such as Apple Music, YouTube, Johnson & Johnson, Serato, and Allbirds. She also was an assistant editor on Thelma, a 2024 Sundance official selection directed by Josh Margolin and starring June Squibb.
Ciara currently is a freelance editor at Legion Post and frequently works with the two-time Academy Award-winning short documentary company, Breakwater Studios as an editor.
