ABOUT CIARA

Ciara Boniface is a 25-year old freelance director, editor, and writer currently based in Los Angeles. In February 2018, Ciara won a nationwide search for the ‘Next Visionary Filmmaker’ -- an award presented by Walt Disney Studios, Nissan, and Wrinkle in Time director, Ava DuVernay.  

Ciara strives to shine light on social and Southern-based themes in her work while providing representation for Black women in the horror/ thriller genres. In 2019, Ciara's short film Skintight launched on Gunpowder and Sky's horror platform ALTER, an online space aimed at giving a voice to emerging horror filmmakers. 

Since 2021, Ciara has worked as an editor at Legion Post, a video editing company based in LA. Ciara has edited commercials for brands such as Allbirds, Eco Style, and Barton Perreira. She also was an assistant editor on Thelma, a 2024 Sundance official selection directed by Josh Margolin and starring June Squibb.
