Ciara Boniface is a 26-year old freelance director, editor, and writer from New Orleans, Louisiana and is currently based in Los Angeles. In her narrative work, Ciara predominately writes in the world of horror, drama, and magical realism with a focus on family, grief, and identity at the heart of the story. Ciara strives to voice her unique experience growing up Black in the South throughout most of her films.
In February 2018, Ciara won a nationwide search for the ‘Next Visionary Filmmaker’ -- an award presented by Walt Disney Studios, Nissan, and Wrinkle in Time director, Ava DuVernay. Since 2021, Ciara has worked as an editor at Legion Post, a video editing company based in LA. Ciara has edited commercials for companies such as YouTube, Johnson & Johnson, Serato, and Allbirds. She also was an assistant editor on Thelma, a 2024 Sundance official selection directed by Josh Margolin and starring June Squibb.
